This made it Tarantino's highest-grossing film to that point, until Django Unchained, a 2012 Western, surpassed it. As a critical success, the dark WWII comedy boasts a Certified Fresh 89% on Rotten Tomatoes with the critics' consensus describing it as "violent, unrestrained, and thoroughly entertaining."
